Oregon Humane Salem Campus has received a $52,000 donation from Capitol Subaru, the result of Subaru’s annual Share the Love promotion that ran from November 2025 through January 2026.
This marks the 12th consecutive year Capitol Subaru has selected Oregon Humane as its Hometown Charity of Choice for the campaign. With this year’s contribution, the dealership’s cumulative Share the Love giving to the organization now totals $600,000.
Under the program, Subaru of America and Capitol Subaru donated $325 for every new Subaru sold during the promotional period. The partnership extends beyond the annual campaign, with Capitol Subaru also providing event sponsorship, volunteer hours and on-site support. The dealership has backed mid-Valley animal welfare organizations since 1999.
“Like Oregon Humane, Capitol Subaru has been serving our community for decades,” said Carrie Casebeer, marketing director for Capitol Auto Group. “And while our team is committed to supporting many local organizations, Oregon Humane is special to us. We see the impactful work they do for pets and people each day and are proud to support this life-changing work.”
Casebeer added: “In case anyone doesn’t know, we love dogs here at Subaru. And even cats too.”
Funding from partners like Capitol Subaru helps cover the cost of caring for animals such as Nattie, a 4-year-old husky transferred to the Salem Campus from Marion County Dog Services. Nattie required extensive medical treatment and has since recovered and is available for adoption.
In 2025, Oregon Humane Salem Campus placed 3,430 pets in homes and provided spay and neuter services for 5,660 animals, including shelter pets, owned pets and community cats. The organization also conducts 32 percent of its statewide humane law enforcement work in Marion County.

Founded in 1868, Oregon Humane operates campuses in Portland and Salem and receives no government funding. The independent nonprofit assists more than 12,000 families annually through pet adoption, distributes more than $2 million each year in veterinary financial assistance and investigates nearly 900 cases of animal abuse and neglect.
