Proudest professional moment: It might be the time I stumbled into a forest fire while working as a reporter at KGW TV. We had heard of a possible fire which usually results in a goose chase. But this time we not only found a fire, we got caught in the wildfire. Our story earned us an Emmy and resulted in a stern lecture from the sheriff. First job: At age 15 I worked in a laundry room at a Seattle motel.

Fun fact: I’m not proud of having dropped out of college at the age of 20, but I love telling people that I’m a graduate of WSU Vancouver. I returned to college at the age of 40 and attended classes while working at KGW. I loved college the second time around!

Favorite spot on a Saturday night: Walking the waterfront

Favorite movie: Forest Gump

Favorite place to eat: Ginger Thai
