Local real estate brokers from Vancouver’s Windermere Stellar Real Estate are participating in two charitable events to fight hunger this week.
As part of the firm’s annual community service day, brokers are running a food drive for Fruit Valley Elementary that runs through Saturday (June 4) as well as volunteering for Meals on Wheels on Friday (June 3).
With just a few days remaining in the food drive, brokers are asking the public to help ensure local families will be fed during the summer months when pantry donations become scarce by:
- Filling a bag with these suggested items: Canned Foods (fruits, vegetables, beans, soup, chili, stews, tuna fish, salmon, chicken, broths); grains (pasta, oatmeal, rice, quinoa, cereal, granola bars, crackers, popcorn); non-perishables (peanut butter, nuts, trail mix, shelf-stable milk, olive or canola oil, honey, applesauce, juice boxes, dried fruits, spaghetti sauce, instant mashed potatoes); and paper products and Toiletries (paper towels, paper napkins, toilet paper, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, diapers).
- Dropping off donations at one of the two Vancouver Windermere offices (12500 SE 2nd Circle, Suite 205, or 210 E 13th Street, Suite 100.
Participants can also make a monetary donation to the food drive where all funds will be used to purchase items on the list above.
