The honor was the result of the 84 SBA-guaranteed loans totaling $41.4 million that Wells Fargo made during the SBA’s most recent fiscal year (Oct. 1, 2011 to Sept. 30, 2012).
The total provided by Wells Fargo to small business owners is the largest amount ever loaned by any bank in this region in one year, according to the SBA.
“The more than $41 million in supported loans by Wells Fargo is having a significant impact on small businesses in the district by helping support jobs and promoting financial stability,” said Acting District Director Robert DuCotè in a press release.
U.S. Bank made the most number of loans (129), which totaled $31 million.
