Wacom, a Tokyo-based company with headquarters for the Americas in Vancouver, will showcase their lineup of Cintiq pen-based creative tablets with software optimized for the tattoo industry at the Biggest Tattoo Show on Earth at the Las Vegas Convention Center late this month.
The Cintiq family of pen displays allow artists to draw and paint directly on screen with Wacom’s pressure-sensitive pen technology.
“A Cintiq workflow allows tattoo artists to shorten their design time by providing a much faster way to resize, warp and stretch artwork to fit the exact contours of a client’s anatomy,” said Don Varga, Wacom’s director of brand marketing. “By taking full advantage of reference photos and layers, artists can quickly find the best colors and shapes to meet client needs.”
Varga said tattoo artists are beginning to embrace digital pen technology due to its creative control, speed and opportunities for immediate collaboration.
