The Neil Jones Food Company, a Vancouver-based food processor, was named one of 11 William B. Darden Distinguished Supplier Award honorees for 2011. The award recognizes suppliers who provide innovative products and services that contribute to the success of Darden Restaurants, the world’s largest full-service restaurant operating company.
Darden honored the Vancouver-based company for establishing formula-based pricing and new, environmentally friendly packaging for marinara and tomato sauce.
“Serving more than 1,800 restaurants throughout North America requires an enormous amount of teamwork and collaboration,” said Jim Lawrence, Darden’s senior vice president of supply management and purchasing. “The Neil Jones Food Company has surpassed our expectations by finding ways to contribute to Darden’s overall success through innovative products and results-driven initiatives.”
