Washington state’s long-term unemployment benefits will decrease by nine weeks next month, the Employment Security Department announced today.
The decrease was triggered by a federally funded long-term benefit program tied to the state’s unemployment rate, which in June fell below a three-month average of 7 percent. The federal benefit will drop from 37 weeks to 28 weeks on August 11.
