Smith served as PRSA chapter president and is nationally accredited in public relations. Among the many community and international service organizations that have benefited from Smith’s talents and dedication are Dining for Women, Meals on Wheels, Rotary Club of Vancouver and many others.
In addition, Carol Fenstermacher, director of community relations of the Evergreen Public School District, and Barbara Ayers, communications manager for the city of Vancouver, won Merit Awards for their communications work. Fenstermacher was recognized for her work on the district’s 2012 levy and Ayers for her work on the grand opening of Vancouver’s new city hall.
