The reception will be held at 5:30 p.m. on September 5, 2012 in the Ridgefield Community Center located at 210 N. Main Avenue.
In addition to meeting the finalists, attendees will have the opportunity to provide written comments that will be forwarded to the Ridgefield City Council. The candidates will be interviewed by
the city council and two additional interview panels the following day on September 6, 2012.
The five candidates include:
John “Tom” Acre – Founding partner and CEO of Acresgreen and Associates, a firm providing consulting services to local governments. He served the city of Commerce City, Colorado, from 1997-2012 in a number of roles, and was one of two deputy city managers for the last four years he was with the city.
Jeffrey Kooistra – City administrator for the city of Waukee, Iowa, from 2006-2012. He has served a number of other cities as city administrator, including the Iowa cities of Clinton, Boone and Eldora, as well as the city of Plattsmouth, Nebraska and the city of Boonville, Missouri.
Phillip Messina – City manager of Central Point, Oregon, since 2002. Prior to that, he served as city administrator for the Washington cities of North Bend, Burlington and Colfax.
David Reeves – Assistant City Manager for Grants Pass, Oregon, for more than two years. He was also the city’s finance director for two years. Reeves served the city of Battle Ground as finance and information services director for almost ten years, the city of Redmond, Oregon, as finance director for over ten years, and was city treasurer for the city of West Jordan, Utah, early in his career.
John Spencer – City administrator/clerk/treasurer for the city of North Bonneville, and has been with the city since 2010. He has served the city of Vancouver as a policy analyst and management analyst, as well as the city of University Place, Washington, in a number of roles including senior management analyst and finance analyst. As an independent consultant, he has also provided management consulting services for a wide range of governmental administrative projects.
