“On one hand, I’m glad that our bill to restore Pearson Air Museum is quickly moving forward in the U.S. House,” commented Herrera Beutler. “Yet I continue to hope that the Park Service will take a cue from the strong support that’s building in Congress, and agree to a solution that is acceptable to our community.”
Last month, the National Park Service (NPS) rescinded its cooperative agreement with the city of Vancouver over the maintenance, operation and administration of Pearson Air Museum. As a sub-cooperator of the city and manager of the museum, the Fort Vancouver National Trust was effectively forced out after it failed to reach a new agreement with NPS.
