Legacy Salmon Creek named Top 25 Most Beautiful Hospital

HealthExecNews.com, a leading source of healthcare management news, has named Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center on its list of the 25 Most Beautiful Hospitals in the World. Legacy Salmon Creek came in at number 15 on a select list of hospitals from 11 countries, including the United States, Austria, Thailand, Panama, Switzerland and China.

The list, according to the website, emphasizes the connection between a pleasing environment and faster recovery times for patients.

“We’re proud of our beautiful facility, certainly, but what remains most important to us is providing excellent service to our patients and their families,” said Jonathan Avery, chief administrative officer of Legacy Salmon Creek, in a press release. “Pedestrian sky bridges, rooms that make the most of natural lighting, gardens for walking and reflecting, private rooms with space for family members to stay overnight – these things help make the facility beautiful, but serving patients drove much of the design.”

The six-story, 468,000-square-foot Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center was designed by Portland-based Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Architects LLP. The campus includes the main hospital, an adjacent medical office building and a seven-story parking structure.
