JPMorgan Chase has given $40,000 to the Business Growth Mentor & Analysis Program (BGMAP) in the College of Business at Washington State University Vancouver (WSUV). This is JP Morgan Chase’s second gift to the program for a total of $62,000.

“This gift from JPMorgan Chase expands our capacity to provide our students meaningful opportunities to enhance their business education while providing small businesses in our region with valuable advice, supported by faculty and professional mentors,” said Jane Cote, director of the College of Business. “We appreciate that JPMorgan Chase recognizes the contributions we have provided and the promise that this program offers to become a rich regional resource for economic advancement.”

Since spring 2011, the program has provided WSUV College of Business students with the opportunity to integrate classroom knowledge, gain consulting skills and to develop project management experience while assisting local small businesses. In the process, BGMAP provides business owner and/or management teams high-level consulting services to help them grow their companies and create jobs for the community.

“JPMorgan Chase is delighted to be instrumental in the launch of the Business Growth Mentor & Analysis Program and we applaud the work of the WSU Vancouver business program,” said Brian Stewart, JPMorgan Chase community relations officer. “This innovative program is helping to spur economic development by providing consulting services to local small businesses, while at the same time, providing real-world experience for students as they prepare to become our workforce of tomorrow.”
