Workers with Vancouver-based Rotschy Inc. began pouring a new concrete intersection for Columbia Street and the Columbia Way extension this week.
Construction of the intersection is expected to take another week to complete, including an estimated three to five days for the concrete to cure and strengthen.
Construction of the intersection is part of a project to extend Columbia Way, Esther and Grant streets, advancing a community goal of restoring Vancouver’s historic connection with the Columbia River waterfront. The project is led by the city of Vancouver with the support of partners Columbia Waterfront LLC, Port of Vancouver, and grants from state and federal agencies.
