The Board of County Councilors has voted to retain Mark McCauley as the county’s chief executive officer for departments not headed by other elected officials.
As a result of the Tuesday evening vote, McCauley’s current contract will be extended to run from July 1 of this year to Jan. 1, 2018. His salary will be $169,460 with a monthly car allowance of $400.
McCauley, a 15-year county employee, was appointed county administrator in 2013. His title changed to acting county manager when the home rule charter took effect Jan. 1, 2015.
Prior to joining the county, McCauley served 20 years in the U.S. Army. He is a certified public accountant with a master’s degree in business administration from Syracuse University and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Washington State University.
