Council for the Homeless announces 2013 “Hope & Action” honorees

Walmart will open its first Neighborhood Market in Vancouver on Wednesday, July 17 after a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7:30 a.m. The new store, approximately one-third the size of a Walmart Supercenter, is located at 7809 NE Vancouver Plaza. The new store will employ roughly 95 full- and part-time associates. The Vancouver Neighborhood Market is one of 24 Walmart stores opening across the country on July 17.

Council for the Homeless announces 2013 “Hope & Action” honorees

Hope & Action awards are given to those whose achievements highlight their dedication to preventing and ending homelessness in Clark County. Honorees are:

  • Community Advocate: Missy Shepherd
  • Community Volunteer: Dave, Jill, Erin and Benji Hellerud
  • Community Supporter: Terry and Ron Frederiksen
  • Community Supporter: Hidden Charitable Trust
  • Community Partner: Columbia River Mental Health Services Homeless Employment Navigators
