The Clark College nursing department, home to one of the largest associate degree nursing programs in the state of Washington, will launch its 50th anniversary celebration by hosting an open house featuring demonstrations of the latest in training technology.
Students, alumni, professional partners and members of the public are invited to attend the event on February 9 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the nursing skills lab, located on the second floor of Clark College at WSU Vancouver. The event is free.
“This year, we are celebrating 50 years of nursing excellence. Our nursing graduates provide quality care in hospitals, clinics, and homes throughout our region,” said Cindy Myers, director of Clark’s nursing program. “Our students learn in state-of-the-art facilities because of generous donor support through the Clark College Foundation. This celebration is a wonderful opportunity for us to welcome and thank our supporters, our clinical partners, our alumni and the community.”
During the open house, guests will learn how the college has incorporated today’s advanced simulation technology into the curriculum. In simulation technology, students learn basic and complex skills by using wireless, computer-controlled mannequins.
The Clark College nursing program is accredited by the National League of Nursing Accreditation Commission and the state of Washington.
