On Sept. 11, Vancouver held a Patriot Day ceremony in remembrance of the 11th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. The event was hosted by the Vancouver Police and Fire Departments at Vancouver City Hall. The ceremony consisted of a combined honor guard of Vancouver Police and Vancouver Fire and a ceremonial Fire Department bell ringing.
The program included a keynote address by Vancouver Mayor Pro-Tem Larry Smith, as well as speeches given by Vancouver Police Chief Chris Sutter and Vancouver Fire Chief Joe Molina.
Members of the public and the media were in attendance to remember the lives lost and the bravery shown on Sept. 11, 2001.
