Battle Ground Chamber to focus on downtown development

Members of the Battle Ground Chamber of Commerce will present information about the Washington State Main Street Program during a city council workshop on Monday, May 6 from 6 to 7 p.m.

The presentation will focus on how the state program could help revitalize Battle Ground’s historic downtown by bringing together locally owned businesses, the city and other stakeholders to work on strategies and actions to improve the area’s economic, social and cultural landscape.

“I have heard from many people in the community that they are interested in helping bring increased vitality to Old Town Battle Ground,” said Carrie Schulstad, executive director of the Battle Ground Chamber of Commerce. “I had the pleasure of helping start and grow the Main Street program in downtown Camas, so I know this method works and I’m excited for the possibilities.”

The upcoming workshop will be held at the Battle Ground City Council Chambers (109 SW 1st Street).
