Animal Control Advisory Board seeks volunteers to fill vacant position

Clark County residents interested in assisting the Animal Protection and Control Advisory Board on policy and ordinance development are encouraged to apply for an open volunteer position.

The 10-member panel is appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. Applicants for this position must be Clark County residents who neither own nor maintain dogs or cats.

Board functions include:

• Reporting to the commissioners and the Vancouver City Council at least once a year on recommended modifications or additions to Clark County or Vancouver Animal Codes and general operations of Animal Protection and Control.

• Acting as an appeal hearing tribunal pursuant to Clark County Code Section 8.19.080 and Vancouver Municipal Code 8.24.280.

• Performing other duties authorized or directed by the commissioners and council.
