The county has built 25 parks and 26 sports fields since voters approved the parks district in 2005. Construction was on hold in 2012 and 2013 because of a reduction in county revenue linked to the downturn in construction, home sales and property values.
Thompson Bros. Excavating awarded new Clark County parks contract
Clark County has awarded a $908,400 contract to Vancouver-based Thompson Bros. Excavating Inc. to build Chinook Neighborhood Park in Salmon Creek and Dogwood Neighborhood Park north of Orchards. Both parks are expected to be completed this fall.
