Brownfields are properties previously used for industrial or commercial activities that may have resulted in low-level soil contamination from oil-related or other hazardous materials.
Stantec Consulting has been hired to work with the city on the project over the next three years. Both parties will identify and prioritize potential brownfield sites throughout the city, conduct environmental assessments of key properties to determine issues involved and develop clean-up plans where necessary.
